To suppress degradation in fuel economy and increase in particulate number of PM, while suppressing increase in dilution rate of lubricating oil.
The control device for an internal combustion engine includes: an oil jet 46 jetting the lubricating oil toward a piston 20 reciprocating in a cylinder 12 of the internal combustion engine 10; an injection amount calculation means 72 calculating a total injection amount of fuel injected from a fuel injection valve 38 for injecting the fuel into the cylinder 12, from the start of the internal combustion engine 10; an oil temperature sensor 60 as an oil temperature measurement means measuring an oil temperature of the lubricating oil; a working fluid temperature region determination means 74 determining a working fluid temperature region A of the oil jet 46 according to the total injection amount of the fuel, from the start of the internal combustion engine 10; and an oil jet control means 76 determining whether or not the oil temperature measured by the oil temperature sensor 60 is within the working fluid temperature region A according to the total injection amount calculated by the injection amount calculation means 72, and controlling operation of the oil jet 46 according to the determination result.
