Abstract:
To suppress the lowering of the ignition performance of an air-fuel mixture at stratified combustion, in a center injection engine in which a fuel injection valve is arranged at an intake port side of a combustion chamber in which a forward tumble flow is generated, and an ignitor is arranged at an exhaust port side.SOLUTION: During an operation at a catalyst warmup mode, ignition timing is set at a crank angle at a retardation side rather than a compression top dead point TDC. Injection timing is set so as to be overlapped on ignition timing after the retardation. Also, an airflow control valve is operated so that a flow direction of intake air sucked into a combustion chamber is inclined to an intake/exhaust direction, and progresses toward an external periphery of a ceiling part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
