Abstract:
To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing attenuation of disturbance of an air-fuel mixture applied by fuel spray, while suppressing increase of a fuel pressure.SOLUTION: In an internal combustion engine (10), a fuel is directly injected into a combustion chamber (16) by a fuel injection valve (24) and ignited in a state that an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber is disturbed in a compression stroke. A control device (40, 25) of the internal combustion engine includes a determination portion for determining whether a combustion period when the fuel is burned in the combustion chamber, is shorter than a prescribed period or not, and an expansion control portion executing expansion control as control to expand a vortex scale of airflow formed in the combustion chamber by the fuel injection, with respect to a present vortex scale in a case when the determination portion determines that the combustion period is not shorter than the prescribed period.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
