Abstract:
To suppress a sudden change in a noise level when switching ignition modes.SOLUTION: An engine includes a main chamber ignition plug 9 for igniting an air-fuel mixture inside a main combustion chamber, and a sub-chamber ignition plug 8 for igniting an air-fuel mixture inside a sub-combustion chamber. A control device 100 of an internal combustion engine includes a controller 50 for controlling actuation of the ignition plugs 8 and 9 so as to switch ignition modes among a main chamber ignition mode in which the ignition is executed only by the main chamber ignition plug 9, a sub-chamber ignition mode in which the ignition is executed only by the sub-chamber ignition plug 8, and a phase difference ignition mode in which the ignition is executed by the two ignition plugs 8 and 9 according to an engine speed and an engine load in a crank angle range from an intake stroke to an exhaust stroke. When switching the ignition mode from one of the sub-chamber ignition mode and the main chamber ignition mode to the other ignition mode, the controller 50 controls the actuation of the ignition plugs 8 and 9 so as to switch the ignition mode through the phase difference ignition mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
