Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shortly converge a rotating speed to a target rotating speed at starting an engine.
SOLUTION: An electronic control unit(ECU) 10 for an engine 1 performs the control of a rotating speed, which is either the control with an inlet air amount, that is, an engine rotating speed is controlled to a target rotating speed by regulating the opening of an electronic throttle valve 16 for the engine in response to the rotating speed at starting the engine, or the control with an ignition timing, that is, the engine rotating speed is controlled to a target rotating speed by regulating an ignition timing for the engine. The ECU 10 calculates an accumulated value for an inlet air amount for the engine from the beginning of engine starting operation (cracking) and starts the control of the rotating speed when the accumulated value reaches the capacity of an inlet air passage at the downstream side of the throttle valve 16. Therefore, the control of the rotating speed is started at the end of the sudden increase of the rotating speed due to air, staying in the inlet air passage at the downstream side of the throttle valve 16 at starting engine, inspired into the engine, making it possible to shortly converge the engine rotating speed to the target rotating speed.
