Abstract:

PURPOSE: To smoothly transfer a lock-up clutch from the open condition to a slip-engaging condition.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of transferring a lock-up clutch 32 from the open condition to the slip-engaging condition, lock-up control oil pressure Ps1 is temporarily raised high, and a lock-up lever valve 54 is quickly switched from OFF to ON, and thereafter, the lock-up control oil pressure Psl is adjusted so that the lock-up clutch 32 is transferred to a predetermined slip-engaging condition. Fitting force of the lock-up clutch 32, namely, a difference of the oil pressure between the fitting oil pressure Pon and the open oil pressure Poff is controlled by a lock-up control valve 66 in response to the lock-up control oil pressure Ps1.
