To provide a control device for a band saw capable of accurately holding the traveling position of the band saw in a fixed position while maintaining the soundness of a band sawing machine.
The control device for the band saw is provided with a device body 2a having a space part 5 for allowing the traveling band saw 4 to pass through; a fluid supply means 7 for supplying a fluid into the space part 5; a traveling position detecting means for detecting the traveling position of the band saw 4; and a control means 24 for regulating the pressure of a fluid on both side faces of the band saw based on the detection result of the traveling position detecting means to adjust the position of the band saw 4. The control means 24 is provided with pistons 20 provided to advance/retreat relative to both side face sides of the band saw 4 within the space part 5 of the device body 2a, and fluid supply parts 22, 23 for advancing/retreating these pistons 20 respectively.
