Abstract:
To provide a control device for an electric mechanical brake booster for a vehicle brake system and a method for operating the electric mechanical brake booster.SOLUTION: In the method, a target amount related to a target operation mode of an electric mechanical brake booster is set in consideration of a pre-set target precompression and a pre-set pressure/distance characteristic curve of the electric mechanical brake booster, the electric mechanical brake booster is started in consideration of the set target amount, and an actual measurement precompression in a brake master cylinder disposed at the downstream side of the electric mechanical brake booster is measured. In this case, only when the measured actual measurement precompression is different from the pre-set target precompression or is different only by a pre-set minimum difference, whether the volume of brake fluid stored at the intermediate in at least one storage chamber of the brake system is not zero is detected and/or whether at least one wheel exhaust valve is opened is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1a
