To provide a seat belt control device capable of performing an automatic taking-up control of a seat belt in consideration of a road condition.
The seat belt control device is equipped with a seat belt control means 17 forcibly taking up the seat belt using an automatic taking-up mechanism 18, a travel resistance detection means 2, 9, 10 detecting the travel resistance, a road surface situation determination means 9 determining whether or not it is during traveling on the road having a large travel resistance based on the detection result of the travel resistance detection means 2, 9, 10, and an emergency braking determination means 6, 7, 9 determining whether or not the braking is an emergency braking. When it is determined that it is during traveling on the road surface having the large travel resistance by the road surface situation determination means 9, and determined that the braking is the emergency braking by the emergency braking determination means 6, 7, 9, the seat belt control means 17 sets the taking-up speed of the automatic taking-up mechanism 18 to be fast (or taking-up strength to be strong).
