To detect tooth chipping on a toothed belt.SOLUTION: An electronic control unit identifies a reference time s when the rotation position of a crankshaft gets to a reference rotation position, and a peak time t when a hydraulic pressure P changes from increase to decrease after the reference time s (Step S130).
