Abstract:

To prevent interruption of power supply to an auxiliary power supply for supplying power to auxiliary equipment such as a luminaire while a vehicle is traveling in a no power-supply section of an AC overhead wire.

AC power is supplied to a main motor from an AC overhead wire via a converter and an inverter. The auxiliary power supply is connected to the input side of the inverter so as to allow the auxiliary power supply to receive DC power from the converter. The inverter is operated in a regeneration mode while a vehicle is traveling in a no power-supply section so as to supply the regenerative power to the auxiliary power supply.
