Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further enhance an action for promoting warming of a catalyst as compared with a conventional device of this type, without causing deterioration of emission and fuel economy when the catalyst is inactive.
SOLUTION: This control device is provided with a tumble generation means, a fuel injection valve 19 for injecting fuel to a combustion chamber so that the fuel may retrograde against the tumble flow, the catalyst 31 in an exhaust passage, a temperature state discrimination means 41 for discriminating a temperature state of the catalyst 31, and a fuel injection control means 43. Divided injection is performed by the fuel injection control means 43 during a compression stroke period when the catalyst 31 is inactive, spray of the post injection is stayed around an ignition plug by high pressure of the compression stroke post period at ignition timing, and the timing of the injection is set to that air-fuel mixture by spray of early injection may be distributed around an air-fuel mixture layer of the post period injection.
