To provide a control device for a turbocharger capable of quickly eliminating shortage of electricity charge of a vehicular battery while maintaining acceleration performance of a vehicle.
EUC 10 outputs regeneration control signal to MG controller 12 in an engine rotation speed range corresponding to a range in which turbine efficiency of a turbocharger 2 is high when voltage of the vehicular battery 13 gets close to a lower limit value. The MD controller 12 makes a motor generator 2D regenerate electric power and supplies the electric power to the vehicular battery 13. The ECU 10 outputs opening control signal to VV controller 1 at that time to keep charged pressure by a compressor 2B of the turbocharger 2 at target charged pressure. Then a motor actuator 19 operates and turns a group of the variable vane 2E to reduce opening of the variable nozzle to increase exhaust gas energy acting on the turbine 2A and to increase charged pressure by the compressor 2B to target charged pressure.
