Abstract:
To provide a control device, of a vehicle automatic transmission which can be shifted to a plurality of gears, capable of curbing a delay in shifting a gear for acceleration when a driver is deemed to perform operation for accelerating a vehicle during downshift operation with a vehicle speed reduced.SOLUTION: Even when a condition for downshifting to a first gear with a larger gear ratio than a second gear during downshift operation from a third gear to the second gear is met with a vehicle speed V reduced due to abrupt deceleration, a transmission control section prohibits downshift of a transmission to the first gear if downshifting to the second gear has not been completed and either releasing a brake pedal or pressing an acceleration pedal is detected. Thus, a control device can curb a delay in shifting the transmission due to downshifting to the first gear during acceleration. Also, the control device can curb a transmission shock generated due to the downshift of the transmission to the first gear.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
