The control device for the vehicle occupant crash protection device is mounted on a vehicle and protects an occupant by detecting an impact on the vehicle and then operating an occupant restraint system based on a detection signal thereof. The vehicle occupant crash protection device includes a pattern storage means for storing a plurality of combination patterns of a plurality of constituent elements which are constituted by combining some of the plurality of constituent elements; a pattern selection means for selecting some of the plurality of patterns stored in the pattern storage means; a constituent element setting means for performing setting to control the vehicle occupant crash protection device by a combination of the constituent elements contained in the pattern selected by the pattern selection means; and a control means for controlling the vehicle occupant crash protection device which is constituted by the combination of constituent elements set by the constituent element setting means.
