To provide a control device for a vehicle capable of correctly restarting an engine at timing when restarting conditions are satisfied after the engine is stopped.
This control device is provided with a fuel injection means 8 to inject fuel at least to a cylinder getting into an expansion stroke shortly before the engine is stopped when the engine is automatically stopped, an ignition control means 43 to control to ignite mixed gas generated by fuel injection shortly before stopping to restart the engine, a restarting motor 20 to drive an output shaft of the engine to restart the engine, and a restarting motor control means 45 to control to restrict lowering of engine speed by setting the restarting motor 20 in an actuation state for set time after fuel injection is stopped so that the engine is automatically stopped. Fuel injection shortly before stopping is executed after pass of the set time.
