Abstract:
Rotating filter with internal cells between discs has eight through bores which are connected to the filter cells. A control face plate has recesses, connected to one compressed air source and two vacuum sources. Its effect is that the immersed part of a filter cell is twice held at a vacuum, a third time after emergence for drying purposes and finally is exposed to compressed air to detach the filter cake. Horizontal filter produces a filter cake which has the same uniform residual moisture content throughout the extent of the filter cells.
