To provide a locking device of a folding table which has smooth and sure locking and unlocking operations and high reliability, facilitates the assembling and requires a little machining accuracy and assembling accuracy of members.
Top board fixing metal fittings 16, locking metal fittings 17, and operation members 18 are disposed between both side plates of an upper arm 13, wherein the locking metal fittings are pivoted at both side plates 15 of the upper arm by pivots 21, locking pins 22 engaged with first engagement parts 19 or second engagement parts 20 of the top board fixing metal fittings and retaining a horizontal attitude and an upright attitude are loosely inserted into long holes 23 formed in both side boards of the upper arm, the locking pins are received in forked locking parts 24 formed at the ends of the locking metal fittings, the locking metal fittings are urged by resiliently urging means 25 in a direction of engaging the locking pins with the first engagement parts or the second engagement parts, and the locking metal fittings are turned based on the operation of the operation members to retract the locking pins along the long holes and release the engagement with the first engagement parts or the second engagement parts.
