To easily reset a lever in a neutral position by providing a spring element for pressing a reset lever from a non-neutral position to the neutral position and a detent means for holding the reset lever in the non-neutral position against this spring element.
When a gear shift lever 24 is rotated right to a center position, a rotary lever 14 is rotated via a cable 22, its rotating motion is transmitted to a reset lever 28 by a pin 18 and the reset lever 28 is rotated clockwise against a tensile spring 38. Thus, a reset element 46 is moved downward. At this time, the pin 18 is positioned on an aligning line 42 and the reset element 46 is placed in a central position corresponding to a neutral state. However, when the shift lever 24 is shifted from the neutral position in this state, the force of a spring element 38 is suddenly increased and switching is made to a specified transmission position by a detent means composed of the pin 18 and a recessed part 36.
