Abstract:

To provide a method controlling braking force on a weft yarn in a shuttle-less loom, reducing mechanical load between a weaving yarn spool and a yarn storage device and reducing thrums by setting the tension of winding turn in the yarn storage device nearly constant and employing a spool switch sensor for switching from an empty spool to a full loaded spool to set an adjustable receive braking.

The braking force of the weft brake (5) is adjusted and the braking force works only to a range necessitated to the weft for the constant tension of winding turn in the weft storage device (11). A weft tension sensor (10) is installed on the rear side of the weft brake (5), and the weft sensor (10) measures the yarn tension of the weft (4) and transmits the result of the measurement to a control device (14), and the braking force of the weft brake (5) is adjusted by the control device (14) by adjusting the yarn braking force relating to the measured yarn tension.
