To provide a control method and a device for avoiding a danger of stopping a driving unit of a vehicle when torque reduction becomes very large in driving slip control, the protection of a gear at gear change time or intervention of the torque reduction.
In these control method and device of the driving unit of the vehicle, a preset value operating smaller than a desired value of a driver is preimparted for an output value of the driving unit at least in one operation state. When an engine speed is less than an engine speed threshold value in this operation state, the preset value is increased by depending on an output signal of a controller. Or when the engine speed is less than the engine speed threshold value and the driving unit exists outside an idling operation state, the preset value is increased by depending on the output signal of the controller.
