Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently regenerate a particulate filter by adequately operating a fuel supplying means and a temperature raising means.
SOLUTION: When controlling the fuel supplying means and the temperature rising means by the control device 12, the deposition of the particulate is estimated. If the deposition does not exceed the first threshold, a normal map is selected to maintain a normal operational condition. If the deposition exceeds the first threshold, it is determined whether or not the catalyst floor temperature of the particulate filter 6 is within a predetermined temperature range. If it is within the predetermined temperature range, a forced-regeneration map is selected to supply the fuel by the fuel supplying means, and then returned to the normal map. If the catalyst floor temperature is deviated from the predetermined temperature range, the deposition of the particulate and the catalyst floor temperature are taken into consideration, and the temperature rising map is adequately selected to raise the catalyst floor temperature by the temperature rising means, returning to the determination whether or not the catalyst floor temperature is within the predetermined temperature range.
