To provide a control method of fixing solution providing means for discharging and providing fixing solution on a recording medium, the fixing solution dissolving or swelling at least a part of a resin component of toner to fix the toner on a recording medium, so as to evenly provide fixing solution on a recording medium without intermittent operation of a recording medium.
A control method of fixing solution providing means comprises the steps of: employing an ink-jet discharge head 4 having a nozzle row 5 that includes plural liquid discharge nozzles, as fixing solution providing means for providing fixing solution on a recording medium that carries toner; scanning with the discharge head over the entire area of a recording medium where a toner image can be formed so that at least two of the liquid discharge nozzles face opposite to each other; and controlling the discharge head to switch the liquid discharge nozzle to be used from among the nozzle row so that the fixing solution can be discharged to the same position of the recording medium the same number of times in accordance with the scan of the discharge head.
