Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce excessive sense of engine brake during deceleration and enhance the driving sense by giving the capacity factor of a fluid clutch a smaller value than in the case of the engine driving condition when the engine is put in driven condition at the time of the car being in deceleration. CONSTITUTION:A capacity factor altering mechanism 300 controls the internal pressure of a fluid coupling 12. This includes a lockup solenoid valve 77, a quick release valve 312 to quickly release the working oil pressure within a working chamber 310 of the fluid coupling 12, and a quick solenoid valve 78 to control the position of this valve 312. When this solenoid valve 78 releases the oil pressure supplied to a valve chamber 342 through an oil path 340 to a drain, a spool 344 moves in the counter-arrow YA direction, and quick release valve 312 releases the working oil in the working chamber 310 to the drain via oil paths 320, 346 and a throttle 348. Thereby the inner pressure of the fluid coupling 12 held till then is sunk, and the capacity factor is lessened.
