Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve acceleration performance in an acceleration transient period.SOLUTION: In an acceleration transient period in which an operation region is transited to a supercharge region from a non-supercharge region, supercharge by an electric supercharger is started (step S3). When boost pressure reaches a prescribed first boost pressure threshold P1 or higher, a valve overlap amount is increased according to an acceleration requirement (step S5). By this constitution, the inside of a cylinder can be scavenged even if the valve overlap amount is increased according to the acceleration requirement in the acceleration transient period by forcibly executing supercharge by the electric supercharger in the acceleration transient period. Acceleration performance can be thereby improved from an initial stage of supercharge.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
