Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multistage turbocharger system and a multistage turbocharger system control method capable of expanding a reduced-cylinder operation range.SOLUTION: A multistage turbocharger system of an engine 10 switched over between a full cylinder operation and a reduced cylinder operation, comprises: three turbochargers P different in capacity; a switching unit provided in at least one of the turbochargers P and deactivating the turbocharger P; and an ECU 20 selecting a plurality of turbochargers P to be activated in response to at least an engine rotating speed, driving the switching unit of the inactive turbocharger P, and connecting the active turbochargers P to each other in series when a reduced cylinder operation condition is satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
