To provide a control method to reduce consumption of a power during running through direct coupling 4WD of a rotation transmission device to manually select the running mode of a vehicle into 2WD running, direct coupling 4WD running, and automatic control running.
A rotation transmission device A comprises a two-way clutch 10 incorporating a roller 17 between an internal member 12 and an outer wheel 13 and performs transmission and disconnection of rotation between the internal member 12 and the outer wheel 13; and an electromagnetic clutch 11 to control engagement and disengagement of the clutch 10. When a direct coupling 4WD running mode is selected, through intermittent carrying to an electromagnetic coil 21 with a current, consumption of a power is reduced and the generation of heat is suppressed.
