Abstract:

To provide a control method for a solenoid valve device for an internal combustion engine which can satisfactorily perform opening and closing operations of a valve element by executing current-carrying control to a valve opening electromagnet or a valve closing electromagnet for opening and closing the valve element, while properly compensating effects of variation of outputs and friction of a displacement sensor.

Output deviation of a displacement sensor 12 is calculated at a valve opening position and a valve closing position in every opening and closing cycle of a valve element 3. A threshold value of the output of the displacement sensor 12 corresponding to the specified displacement position is set by adopting the deviation, which displacement position is specified according to the ratio in respect to total displacement rate of the valve element 3. Current- carrying control is performed over a valve closing electromagnet 5 or a valve opening electromagnet 6 based on judgement whether the output of the displacement sensor 12 reaches or not in the opening and closing time of the valve element 3.
