Abstract:
To make it possible to form a desired ultrasonic beam even in the case of making a sound ray direction inclined relative to a symmetrical axis of the arrangement of vibrators in an opening.
The weight attached to the respective vibrators is made asymmetrical relative to the symmetrical axis (10c) when the sound ray direction is inclined into one side relative to the symmetrical axis of the array of the vibrators in the opening. The apparatus and method can be used in improving an image in carrying out an composite scanning of a liner scanning system and a sector scanning system or a composite scanning of a convex scanning system and a sector scanning system.
