PURPOSE: To speed up processing by storing information on the state of a buffer memory and grasping its use state, and simultaneously performing reading and writing among a floppy disk device, the buffer memory, and an external device.
CONSTITUTION: Once one-sector data from a floppy disk FD are written in a buffer memory (8 kilobites) 8, a floppy disk control part 7 sets an end bit and an end state in a status register 10 which corresponds to the read sector, and starts reading a following sector. At the same time, an interface control part 9 checks the contents of the status register 10, transfers data, having been written in the buffer memory 8, out of the floppy disk device, and resets the end bit in the status register 10 on the completion of the tranfer. The writing of data from the outside of the floppy disk device to the floppy disk is carried out following the opposite procedure.
