PURPOSE: To attain size reduction in a pressure vessel by arranging a jack rod joined to a control rod and a fluid pressure jack to raise-lower and hold this rod.
CONSTITUTION: A fluid pressure jack 38 contains a holding mechanism 50 and a raising mechanism 60, and is installed in a lattice 40. When effective pressure is applied to fluid pressure holding piping 71, a holding piston 56 pushes up a slidingly movable member 53, and a locking finger 51 is turned to an engaging position, and in this position, a jack rod 34 is held in a prescribed position. When pressure is not applied to the member 53, the finger 51 releases the rod 34. When high pressure is applied to a raising fluid pressure piping 73, a raising piston 68 takes an upward stroke in a condition where a raising piston 69 is engaged, and moves a slidingly movable piece 63 upward, and raises the rod 34 by a single notch. When only medium pressure is applied, resultant force of weight of a control rod 31 and a spring 66 pushes the slidingly movable piece 63 downward. Therefore, the piston 68 takes a downward stroke, and lowers the rod 34 by a single notch.
