Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure the stable control in a wide range by having the operations to turn the result of comparison carried out between the received power and the prescribed reference power into the numerial data and to smooth this data and controlling the gain of an amplifier based on the result of those operations.
CONSTITUTION: The received signals are turned into the voice/video data through an HF amplifier 102, a frequency converter 103, a variable gain amplifier 104 and a demodulator 105. A power detector 105 generates toe numerical received power signals by an A/D converter and a digital square unit and sends these signals to a control signal generation circuit 107. The circuit 107 turns the value of the received power signals into the frequency by a clock against the prescribed reference received power and integrates the frequency. The upper and lower stage threshold values are set to the integration value, and the gain of the maplifier 104 is reduced or increased when it exceeds both threshold values. For this purpose, a gain control signal is produced. Thus the signals are processed in a wide dynamic range with no use of a logarithm converter, a log amplifier, etc., and in a simple constitution.
