PURPOSE: To enhance reliability of selfcontrol and adjustment of a photosensitive material processing soln. and to adapt its operation to reduction of labor cost and automation in a simple and inexpensive manner by attaching a magnetic recorder to a control strip.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic recording tape is attached separately or applied or bonded to a control strip used for controlling the performance of a processing soln. of a photosensitive material as the counterpart of said strip. The image density information of a control dot image or optical wedge image formed on the control strip by the automatic development is read out and compared with the information of a reference strip, and the conditions of the processing soln. are examines and control measures are taken. The magnetic recording tape attached to said control strip is preferably attached to the control strip or bonded in one body so as to provide for examination of the conditions of the processing soln. before now, and description of a control chart, and to facilitate arrangement and storage.
