Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control ignition timing in a compression ratio change period to further proper timing, in an internal combustion engine having a variable length compression ratio mechanism using a variable length connecting rod.SOLUTION: In a compression ratio change period, reference ignition timing is acquired on assumption that a mechanical compression ratio is a prescribed reference compression ratio being an estimation compression ratio at prescribed set timing, or a compression ratio at a target compression ratio side in the compression ratio change period rather than the estimation compression ratio at prescribed set timing in a compression stroke. When a prediction compression ratio at the reference ignition timing differs from the prescribed reference compression ratio, ignition timing is set at a correction ignition timing which is obtained by correcting the reference ignition timing on the basis of a difference between the prediction compression ratio and the prescribed reference compression ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
