To provide a control system, a control method, and a control program for shift-stage switching which enables pros and cons of a shift-stage switching for fuel-economical operation to be judged in a short time, and amount of information which must be stored to be reduced.
By the shift-stage switching control-system, a shift-stage and speed in vehicle-running, engine speed, and a degree of accelerator travel are detected. On the basis of detected degree of the accelerator and engine speed, a load factor in the running is computed. On the basis of a gear ratio in response to shift-stage one-stage higher than the shift-stage in the running, a frequency distribution table, detected speed, and a computed load factor, it is determined whether in the case where the shift-stage-switching one-stage higher than the shift-stage in vehicle running is done, the speed and the load factor can be maintained or not. On the basis of the above determination, whether the one-stage higher upshifting in the running is possible or not is determined.
