Abstract:
PURPOSE: To determine the position of the rotary shaft of a stepping motor subjected to closed loop control without using any external sensor. CONSTITUTION: The control system for a stepping motor comprises means 90 generating a signal indicative of a counter-electromotive force induced in the motor coil by means of a rotor, and a microprocessor 100. The microprocessor 100 comprises means supplying a signal for calculating the actual position of the rotor from the signal indicative of a counter-electromotive force induced by means of the rotor, means for generating a reference signal corresponding to a desired position of the rotor, means for comparing the reference signal corresponding to a desired position with the actual position of the rotor to generate an error signal, and means for adjusting the rotor position according to the error signal.
