To install a hydraulic cylinder serving as a driving source on the outside by absorbing an inclination of a propeller shaft and preventing disturbance of the motion of a pitch changing change rod passing through the propeller shaft.
In a controllable pitch propeller device, a shifter shaft, which is freely fitted in the outer circumference of a propeller shaft 14 connected to a propeller blade 16 and provided with a bracket 44 freely fitted in the outer circumference, is connected to a change rod 28 passing through the propeller shaft 14 for changing a pitch of the propeller blade 16, while a hydraulic cylinder 48 arranged between the bracket 44 and a hull 10 is expanded/shrunk so as to push/pull the change rod 28. In the controllable pitch propeller device, a spherical washer 54 is mounted in a mounting part for the hydraulic cylinder 48.
