Abstract:
To provide a resin infusion method achieving a high fiber volume fraction in a method for making fiber-reinforced composites from a fiber preform using a vacuum bag.
A vacuum pump 30 is used to compact the fiber preform 14 in several cycles and then the inside of the bag 12 is controlled to an appropriate level of vacuum to feed resin from a pot 10 to the bag 12. At this time, by evacuating a resin feed tank 10 to a pressure below atmospheric pressure, the pressure on the feed resin is controlled.
