To provide a controlled operation method for a vertical shaft pump 14 capable of executing controlled operation if water level A in a suction water tank 10 is over a lower end level B of a suction bellmouth 22.
This invention relates to a controlled operation method for the vertical shaft pump 14 having a pumping pipe 18, a pump casing 20 and the suction bellmouth 22 connected to an upstream side of a discharge elbow 16 in order and hung down from the suction water tank 10, and provided with a discharge valve 24 in a down stream side of the discharge elbow 16. A vacuum suction means comprising a full water detector 50, a suction valve 54 and a vacuum pump 56 is connected to a suction hole 48 bored at a roughly highest part of a piping between the discharge valve 24 to a suction bellmouth 22, the discharge valve 24 is fully closed and an inside of piping is made full by vacuum suction of the inside of the piping by a vacuum suction means under a condition that water level A of the suction water tank 10 is at a lower end level B of the suction bellmouth 22 or higher, and the vertical shaft pump 14 is started and operated.
