Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent abrupt fluctuation in the output voltage from a generator even upon abrupt fluctuation in the r.p.m. of engine due to deceleration, for example, when the voltage reference for a voltage regulator is altered.
CONSTITUTION: If a circuit 50 makes a decision that the conductivity of a power Tr 24 for conducting a field winding 13 is higher than a predetermined value when a voltage regulator 20 is increasing the voltage, a voltage regulation control circuit 100 stops to increase the regulating voltage only when the conductivity is higher than a predetermined value and increases the regulating voltage again when the conductivity drops below the predetermined value. The conductivity lower than the predetermined value represents lowering of the power generating capacity of an alternator 10. Output voltage does not increase in this case but since the regulating voltage is fixed, the voltage difference can be sustained low. Since the regulating voltage has not increased when the power generating capacity is recovered, the output voltage does not increase abruptly.
