A roller blind RB is vertically lifted by the asynchronous motor of a drive unit DU disposed in a winding tube T. At first, when an ascending command or a descending command is inputted through a cable from a control point CP, with regard to the drive unit DU the winding tube T is successively normally or reversely rotated only in a prescribed displacement amount by a logical processing unit, its required time is compared, the rotation direction of the motor in response to ascending or descending is discriminated, and furthermore, an input command is compared. Its result is stored in a command reversing memory, and referred to perform ascending control next and thereafter. Thus, even if the drive unit DU is disposed at either the right side or the left side of the winding tube T, no confirmation test of connection of a control cable TLV is required.
