Abstract:
PURPOSE:To smoothly perform every shifting from the low to the second speed, by temporarily engaging brakes when performing the shifting with a manufal valve changed into a D-range. CONSTITUTION:When the speed of a vehicle is increased in its slow running with a manual valve changed into a D-range, a low-second shifting valve is changed over and brakes B1, B2 undergo such smooth engagement with slippage that the engagement is started at a point S and finished at another point E. After the completion of the engagement of the brakes B1, B2, oil pressure P rises with the lapse of time. At a point E' where the oil pressure P reaches a level PC, the brake B1 is rapidly disengaged in a short time after temporary engagement at the time of shifting from the low to the second speed. According to this constitution, the oil pressure to be supplied to the brakes B1, B2 can be set to the same characteristic for both the case that the mannual valve is put in the D-range and the case that the manual valve is put in a 2-range. This results in smoothly effecting every shifting from the low to the second speed.
