PURPOSE: To improve durability of a V-belt and a pulley by increasing lubricating oil quantity supplied to between a variable pulley and a steel belt when the increasing ratio of input torque for a transmission is large.
CONSTITUTION: A controller 60 has a means 101 for detecting input torque to a transmission and a lubricating oil quantity increasing means 102 for supplying the oil from not only oil supply nozzles 51, 51 but an oil supply nozzle 52 by receiving the output thereof when the increasing ratio of the input torque. The controller 60 detects the changing ratio of the opening of a throttle valve according to the signal of a throttle sensor 61, when the ratio is larger than preset valve, lubricating oil is injected from not only the nozzles 51, 51 but the nozzle 53 to increase the lubricating oil, even it an engine is driven. The steel belt 45 is thereby cooled by a large quantity of oil and the injection of the increased lubricating oil from the nozzle 52 is completed after a predetermined time. Accordingly, the thickness of an oil film becomes optimum according to the oil temperature so that durability of the pulley and the belt is improved.
