Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent a transfer shock from occurring by performing a changeover between a first mode to be controlled in a first air-fuel ratio state and a second mode to be controlled in a second air-fuel ratio state at the more fuel lean side than the former, according to an engine driving state, and setting a parameter value according to the selected mode.
CONSTITUTION: An electronic control unit 70 determines a fuel injection quantity, ignition timing and an exhaust gas recirculation gas inlet quantity or the like on the basis of each input signal out of various sensors and the like, controlling a fuel injection valve 4, an ignition coil 19, an exhaust gas recirculation valve 45 and the like. In this case, it is able to be selected to a first mode to secure driving performance being required with engine output after being fuel-sprayed mainly in an intake stroke, and a second mode being selected in a second air- fuel ratio state at the fuel lean side, and to be fuel-spouted mainly at a compression stroke after being selected in a second air-fuel ratio state on the fuel lean side. According to the selected mode, a parameter value of a fuel injection quantity, ignition timing or the like imparting the effect to a combustion state in a combustion chamber is set.
