To provide an inexpensive controller which has a simple constitution and can continue optimum operations, when the door of a home elevator makes abnormal operations.
In a controller for door of home elevator provided with a stepping motor 1, which works as a rotary machine for driving and a two-phase encoder 2 which works as a position detecting device for acquiring door position signals, a comparator circuit 27 which detects the out-of-phase of the motor 1 and then the operating direction of the motor 1 by comparing the output of the encoder 2 with the output of a pulse generator which drives the motor 1 and a microcomputer, having a first storage device which restores the number of the drive pulses of the motor 1 corresponding to the total driving distance of the door of a home elevator, a second storage device which stores the sequence pattern for driving the motor 1, and an up-down counter 26, which counts the number of pulses from a first stored position to the present position and stopping position from the output of the second storage device are provided so that the controller can control the door in an optimum driving sequence.
