To provide a controller of an electric power steering device having excellent steering performance by suppressing an influence of a steering torque ripple caused by the cogging torque of a motor or the operating torque of a mechanical part without using a motor current.
The controller of the electric power steering device controls a motor for applying an steering auxiliary force to a steering system based on a current control value calculated from a steering auxiliary command value and a current value calculated based on steering torque from a torque sensor and vehicle speed. The controller of the electric power steering device is provided with an extracting means for extracting the steering torque within a range of a predetermined frequency, and a phase compensation means for phase-compensating the extraction torque extracted by the extracting means, and adds a compensation signal from the phase compensation means to the current control value.
