To improve the durability of a transmission by enabling a controller to avoid the increase of weight of the main body of the transmission and the increase of friction that occur in the case of enlarging tolerable input torque, and also to improve the fuel consumption by lessening the weight, the dimensions, and the lost torque by enabling it to elevate the latitude in combination between an engine and a motor and to mount an automatic transmission small in tolerable input torque, by suppressing the output torque from the motor so that the torque amplified by a fluid type torque converter may not exceed the tolerable input torque of the transmission, when driving the motor in addition to the engine, in a controller for a hybrid car.
This controller is provided with a control means which is equipped with a motor output suppressing means for suppressing the output torque from the motor so that the torque amplified by the fluid type torque converter may not get over the tolerable input torque of the transmission, when driving the motor in addition to the engine.
