Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent fluctuation of rotation or torque when switching is made between series running and parallel running.
SOLUTION: When a transition is made from series running mode to parallel running mode, command torque of an engine is increased by a specified value Tk at a time and the absolute value &verbar Tdrv-Teg&verbar of the difference between a driver request torque Tdrv and an engine drive torque Teg is checked against a set value Kt (S203-S205). If &verbar Tdrv-Teg&verbar ≤Kt, the absolute value &verbar Np-Nar&verbar of the difference between the r.p.m. of a primary pulley Np and the actual r.p.m. of a motor A is checked against a set value Kn (S26). &verbar Np-Nar&verbar ≤Kn, a command for locking a lockup clutch is delivered (S207). When a transition is made from parallel running mode to series running mode, engine torque is decreased gradually and a corresponding torque is outputted from a motor B. When the engine torque becomes 0, r.p.m. of the motor A matches the r.p.m. of the motor B and the lockup clutch is unlocked.
