Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine real atmospheric pressure to be used in various processes without providing an atmospheric pressure sensor or the like in an internal combustion engine provided with a variable nozzle turbo charger.
SOLUTION: A nozzle vane of a turbo charger 35 provided in a diesel engine 11 is opening-controlled by duty control of an applied voltage to an electromagnetic solenoid of an electric vacuum regulating valve(EVRV). By opening control to this nozzle vane, supercharging pressure of the diesel engine 11 is adjusted to coincide with a target supercharging pressure value determined based on an operating condition of the engine 11. An electronic control unit provided on the diesel engine 11 deducts a duty ratio command value in a standard atmospheric pressure condition and a real duty ratio command value, and estimates an atmospheric pressure based on a deducted value.
