To generate only a required torque not causing vibration and reduce power consumption and heat generation although the vibration is generated by an excess torque since a drive current of a stepping motor is configured so as to generate a large torque in order to prevent step-out in consideration of a fluctuation in a load and an environment.
A drive current is reduced by a predetermined unit during initial configuration. An operating limit current value is confirmed just before step-out occurs, and added to a current corresponding to an additional motor torque so as to configure a drive current value. When the stepping motor is used, the configured drive current value is reduced, the motor is driven periodically or during an idle state, and it determines whether step-out occurs. If the step-out occurs, the drive current value is reconfigured so as to prevent the step-out.
